[It's a pleasant day in Gridania. The sky is blue, the birds are chirping, and this Miqo'te is very, very lost.]
[When Rose left home to become an adventurer, she knew there would be some hard times ahead. What she had not expected was that Gridania would be a literal maze. She's supposed to be finding her way to the Adventurer's guild, but it's been two hours, and she doesn't feel any closer to her goal than when she started.]
[In desperation, she turns to the first person she sees, and asks for help.]
Hey, you. Do you know anything about this city?
[Although she could stand to do so more nicely.]

[For better or worse, Rose had eventually convinced the Warrior of Light to let her get on the ship towards Kugane. Despite his warnings, it had been a relatively uneventful voyage.]
[And here she is, in Kugane. Unable to leave Kugane, it turns out, for reasons she doesn’t quite understand (and doesn’t care to try to). Not only that, but she’s confined to the embassy, due to some ‘looming international incident.’]
[The next time Takame walks in, he’ll find her pouting. There’s something to be said about her being a brat here, but how much needs to be said, really.]
I still don’t understand. Why are stuck here?

Whew...
[Leonie strides back into the Rising Stones after a long patrol around Mor Dhona and the surrounding area, stretching her arms out above her head as she rolls her neck from side to side.]
All clear! Looks like the Empire's keeping to themselves for the moment.

[It was a small errand that took them out of the town. In truth, Rose felt she could have handled it herself, but it was better to be cautious. She ended up with Vanitas as her partner.]
[As bad as it was, at least it wouldn’t take long. That what Rose had thought, anyway. No matter how many times she tries to make her way through the trees, she can’t see the path they came here on.]
Well, this is just lovely. We’re lost.

[It’s late evening, and that can only mean that Rose has a drink in her hand. She’s not sure how she found this bar, to be completely honest—it was nestled between houses in Kugane, despite the fact that when she walked by yesterday, she could have sworn the lot was empty.]
[Either way, she’s not going to complain. She’s content to sip at her beer and take in the company around her. She’s never seen any of these people before, but that doesn’t mean much.]
[All the tables are taken, and so she goes to the one that looks the most empty. It’s occupant is a lone Au Ra. It would be proper to ask before sitting down. She doesn’t.]

"Do I seem like the type of man that would lie to you?"
Absolutely. He knows it, too, if his cheeky smile is any indication. At least he's marginally self-aware. Does that make it better or worse? His bet is on worse.
"I can do it. But the procedure to attempt it might be... unpleasant. Invasive. It'll basically be a consciousness share so I can pinpoint the source of your power and extract it." At least he's letting her know instead of just going through with it. That's a silver lining, right?

"Of course," he says, giving a somewhat proud nod. "Nothing would make me happier." Okay, well, there are a few things that might but he'll keep those to himself.
For now.
"The Firmament is coming along nicely thanks to the help of Lord Francel. He's really put his all into the place." Aymeric wishes that he was able to oversee it more diligently but he has read the reports of progress. It's been amazing to see so many people from every corner of Eorzea come together to help their humble city-state. "And there are some new vendors I have been meaning to visit since their approval to sell wares was granted."
